Adele and Greg Kurstin tie at No. 1 on Billboard ’s Hot 100 Songwriters chart (dated Oct. 30), each leading for the first time thanks to their work on the former’s “Easy on Me.” Kurstin also spends his first week atop Hot 100 Producers, as he solely produced the ballad. “Easy” rockets to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 65 million radio airplay audience impressions, 53.9 million U.S. streams and 74,000 downloads sold in the Oct. 15-21 tracking week (following its Oct. 14 release), according to MRC Data. It’s just a number. Some folks may say that about the Grand Ole Opry’s 5,000th Saturday show on Oct. 30. But Bill Anderson , who fought back tears when he celebrated his 60th anniversary as an Opry member this year, expects an emotional night when the WSM-AM Nashville show reaches the 5K mark. “How many anythings last 5,000 performances or 5,000 times?” he asks rhetorically. “I mean, look at all that’s happened during the time of those 5,000 performances from 1925 to 2021. My goodness, the world has changed and the Opry has changed, and yet it’s been able to endure. Police in China’s capital Beijing say famed international pianist Li Yundi is a suspect in a prostitution case. A message on the force’s microblog said a suspect had been placed in administrative detention and an investigation opened on Thursday (Oct. 21) involving a woman identified by her surname Chen and a man named as “Li di,” with the first part of his personal name deleted as is standard in police cases. The post was followed by another message depicting a piano keyboard and the words “one must definitely see clearly the difference between black and white.” The official China Musicians Association also said it was expelling Li from the organization based on the Beijing Chaoyang District police notice that he had been arrested. Li, 39, began playing piano as a small child and studied in China and Germany before becoming the youngest winner of the International Chopin Piano Competition in 2000 at age 18. Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne ’s epic love story is getting the movie treatment. On Thursday, Variety revealed that the iconic rock ‘n’ roll couple’s relationship is the subject of a brand-new feature film that’s set to be released by Sony Pictures. The project — which comes courtesy of Polygram Entertainment — does not have an official title yet. The movie will take on a biopic format that will follow the Osbournes’ nearly 40 years of marriage that fans got a peek of while starring on  The Osbournes , their reality television show that ran on MTV between 2002 and 2005. Oscar nominee Lee Hall, who is known for his work on Cats , Rocketman , Billy Elliot and more, is scripting the project. “Our relationship at times was often wild, insane and dangerous but it was our undying love that kept us together,” Sharon told  Variety . “We’re thrilled to partner with  Sony Pictures  and Polygram to bring our story to the screen.” The untitled biopic is a family affair: S...
