All the Musicians Who Have Spoken Out About Having Coronavirus

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage, the rich and famous aren’t staying quiet about their diagnoses. Instead, celebrities are speaking out on social media not only to keep fans informed but, in some cases, to urge followers to stay home in order to help reduce the risk of transmission. Bold-faced names from professional athletes (Kevin Durant) to politicians (Miami’s Mayor Francis Suarez) to big- and small-screen stars (Daniel Dae Kim) and even royals (Prince Albert II) are among those who have opened up about having tested positive for COVID-19. Musicians have been no different, sharing tales of their symptoms and quarantine. Here are the artists who have opened up about having the coronavirus. Gene Simmons Days after Kiss announced that its vocalist had tested positive for coronavirus, the band shared that their bassist had also contracted the virus. “Gene Simmons has now tested positive and is experiencing mild symptoms,” Kiss said Aug. 31, 2021. For Alicia Keys , “Girl on Fire” isn’t just a million-selling single, but the title and inspiration for a young adult graphic novel scheduled for next year. HarperCollins Publishers announced Tuesday (Aug. 31) that Girl on Fire , the story of 14-year-old Lolo Wright and her telekinetic powers, will come out March 1. There’s a little Lolo in all of us — we all have the power inside to do what we never even thought we could — and I’m so proud and crazy excited to be able to share her story with you. Five Burning Questions: Lorde’s ‘Solar Power’ Debuts at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart

One of the most-anticipated comeback efforts of 2021, Lorde ’s  Solar Power  LP debuts at No. 5 this week on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The set moves 56,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including 34,000 in album sales. Though the first-week numbers are solid, they’re down from Lorde’s prior album, 2017’s  Melodrama , which bowed atop the Billboard 200 with 109,000 units moved. And while  Melodrama was met with rapturous critical reception, leading to a Grammy nomination for album of the year, the response to  Solar Power has been a little more mixed thusfar. Is the lower-key response to  Solar Power fair? And how likely is Lorde to return to the top 40? Billboard staffers discuss these questions and more below. 1. Solar Power debuts at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with 56,000 equivalent album units moved — her lowest bow on the chart to date, and down from the No. 1 debut and 109,000 units of Melodrama’s first week. Is the showing a disappointment
